Gaylen V. Larsen, 67, of Bradgate, passed away May 29, 2008 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. David Hobbs officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Gaylen is survived by his wife, Linda of Bradgate; his mother, Elvira Larsen of Humboldt; daughter, Barb Larsen (Pedro Zepeda) of Washington, Iowa; sons, Larry (Brandi) Larsen of Fort Dodge, Roger (Lynn) Larsen of Huxley, and Daryl (Susan) Larsen of Waterloo; grandchildren, Casey Zepeda and Elizabeth, Alex, Jacob, Peyton, Taylor, Hannah, Jacob, and Caleb Larsen; and brothers, Roy Larsen of Simi Valley, CA, Rolland Larsen of Humboldt, and DeLane Larsen of Humboldt. His father, Leroy Larsen, preceded him in death.
Gaylen V. Larsen, the son of Leroy and Elvira (Hundertmark) Larsen, was born August 21, 1940 at Bradgate, Iowa. He received his education at Bradgate Consolidated School and graduated in 1958. Following his education, Gaylen went to Work for Farmers Cooperative Elevator at Bradgate. On September 16, 1961, he was united in marriage to Linda Ham at the Bradgate United Methodist Church and the couple made their home at Bradgate. Gaylen was a 50-year employee of Farmers Cooperative, which later became Pro Cooperative. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church at Gilmore City. He was an enthusiast of John Deere two-cylinder tractors and John Deere memorabilia. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and antique tractor rides.
