Genevieve M. Klein

Genevieve M. Klein, 93, of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 19, 1925 in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Katie (Heiderscheidt) Wagner. She grew up south of Algona and was educated there. She was united in marriage to Raymond J. Klein on January 14, 1957. The couple moved to Humboldt and later moved to Dakota City. Genevieve was involved with family, they were her pride and joy. She and Raymond traveled to the UK, Texas, Ohio, North and South Dakota to see their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading, playing 500 and pinochle, she was a member of Women of the Spirit at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Peter Klein of Humboldt, JoAnne (Gary) Kollasch of Algona, Patty Godfrey of Dakota City and Debra Straub of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, her grandchildren, Lisa (Matt) Frerichs, Sarah (James) Walrack, Andrew (Stephanie) Kollasch, Michelle Kollasch, Jennifer Jimenez, Sergio Jimenez, Matthew Godfrey, Graham Straub & Daniel Straub, her great-grandchildren, Mason and Caleb Walrack, Owen and Miles Frerichs and Bodhi Kollasch, her brother, Joseph (Joyce) Wagner of Wesley, her sister, Kathrine Aman of Algona and her sister-in-law, Sr. Imogene Klein of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her son-in-law, Robert Straub, her brothers, Michael, John, Nick and William and her sisters, Annie, Florence, Margaret, Susie and Mary.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday March 15th at The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th at St. Mary Catholic Church, Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
