Gerald N. Kramer, 82, of LuVerne, went to be with our Lord on July 30, 2009 as a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. Memorial services will be Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 10:00 am in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary service at 7:00pm on Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home.
Gerald N. Kramer, the son of Mathias and Mary (Rapp) Kramer, was born on November 16, 1926 in their home in Bancroft. He attended St. John’s School of Bancroft and following his education, Gerald served in the United States Military during World War II. He was united in marriage to Pauline (Larson) Jensen on July 08, 1954 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church at Algona. The couple made their home in Bancroft and Algona until moving to LuVerne in 1971. For many years, Gerald was employed in the road construction business. In his retirement, he enjoyed farming part time, tinkering in his shop and helping his family with projects. On March 26, 2007, he became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. He moved to the Heavens to be with our Lord on the morning of July 30, 2009 at the age of 82. Gerald had been a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed the many adventures of traveling and camping. He loved dancing, music, and collecting antiques. His most precious time was spent with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Gerald Kramer is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline of LuVerne; children, David Jensen of Seattle, WA, Diane Ely of Neosho, MO, Darrell Jensen of Leander, TX, Dale Jensen of Neosho, MO, Joanne Kramer of Ankeny, IA, Nick (Cheryl) Kramer of Rutland, Barb Davis of Talladega, AL, Mark (Becky) Kramer of LuVerne, Theriesa (Duane) Hellman of Bancroft, Terrilynn Kramer of Glendale, AZ, and Jerry (Brenda) Kramer of Humboldt; 27 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, Joseph Kramer of Bancroft.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Denny Jensen, daughter-in-law, Joanie Jensen, grandson, Gary Jensen; son-in-law, Butch Ely; brothers, Morris and Frank; and sisters Katherine and Margret.
