Geraldine Dietrich

Geraldine Dietrich, 96, formerly of Adair, IA, passed away on April 30, 2016 at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Adair. Visitation is from 1 - 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Geraldine (Gerry) Dietrich was born April 14, 1920 to Patrick and Helen (McCarthy) Marnin in Adair County, Iowa. She attended school in the area of her birth and graduated from Adair High School in 1937. She taught in the rural schools in the area for a few years. Gerry was married on October 26, 1940 to Albert (Bud) Dietrich at St. John’s Catholic Church in Adair. To this union two children were born, Maurice (Susan) Dietrich of Carson City, NV and Patricia (Harold) Trask of Renwick, IA. Also left to cherish her memory are seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special niece, Kaye Klemish.
Gerry was a lifetime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Adair. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Willing Workers Club. Gerry enjoyed music and liked to dance in her younger years. She enjoyed gardening and the beauty of nature. Family visits and friends stopping by meant a great deal to Gerry.
Geraldine Dietrich was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert in 1990; brothers, Edward, Clair, and William; sisters, Mary Van Aernam, and Kathryn Westering; infant brother, Patrick; granddaughter, Laura Dietrich; grandsons, Michael and Roger Trask; and great grandchildren, Grace Goode and Sylvia Breitkreutz.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
