Glen F. Lenning, 97, of the Humboldt and Hardy areas, passed away August 8, 2011 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with the Rev. H.W. Schiller officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery at Hardy. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Glen Florinus Lenning, the son of George and Nora (Berg) Lenning, was born April 15, 1914 in Humboldt County. He attended country schools and following his education, worked on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Betty Jones on July 20, 1940. The couple made their home on the Lenning family farm where they built their home. Glen and Betty were long time members of Trinity Lutheran Church at Hardy. Glen enjoyed gardening, welding, and machine work. He especially liked visiting with family and friends. In addition to his farming operations, Glen kept busy with his portable grinder/mixer doing custom work for over 1000 customers. Betty passed away in June of 2005 and Glen made his home at Springvale in August of 2006. He became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North in December of last year.
Glen is survived by his sister, Frances Mesicek of Humboldt, and his extended family, Skeeter Fuller; Candice, Tana, and Chelsie Fuller; Brielle Jefferson, and Yanna Gantt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; son, Scott; and sisters, Annette and Eunice Lenning, Neva Mandsager, and Marjorie French.
