Gloria M. Campbell, 89, of Humboldt, died Monday, August 8th, 2011 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday with interment in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Janis (Jim) Andersen of Humboldt and Kathy (Frank) Hanna of Dakota City; one grandson, Todd (Melanie) Andersen of Dakota City; two great grandchildren, Sully and Sadie Andersen of Dakota City; sisters, Violet Oulman of Owatonna, MN, and Betty Lu Collins of Des Moines; her brother, Bill (Doris) Willadsen of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russ; granddaughter Shana Andersen; great granddaughter, Hope Andersen; and her sister, Jerene Clark.
Gloria Mae Willadsen, the daughter of Chris and Mary (Hansen) Willadsen, was born February 5, 1922 in Pomeroy, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Pomeroy High School. On November 23, 1940, she was united in marriage to Russell Campbell of Humboldt. Following her husband’s service in the army, they settled in Humboldt where they spent their entire married life. Russell passed away in May of 1997 and Gloria continued to maintain her home in Humboldt until becoming a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North six weeks ago.
Gloria was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. In earlier years, she was active in the Faith United Methodist Women’s Circles and was a charter member of the Silver Sisters.
