Gloria A. Williams, 75, of Rutland, passed away June 10, 2011 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Delbert of Rutland; children, Kim Faber of Vermont, Kay (Ryan) Holt of Bettendorf, Calvin (Judy) Williams of Litton, Kenny Terwilliger of Algona, Colleen (Bill) Miller of LuVerne, Kelly Bailey of Rutland, and Kendra (Sunny) Bullock of Dougherty; as well as her extended “children” she loved and cared for; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her brother, John (Bonnie) Monson of Nevada, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Irvin, and Dean Monson; and sister, Lil Easley.
Gloria Ann Monson, the daughter of Lyle and Ella (Germiland) Monson, was born June 24, 1935 at Lehigh, Iowa. As a child, she moved with her family to Humboldt and then to Minnesota. She married Richard Terwilliger and they settled in Humboldt. That marriage was later dissolved. In Humboldt Gloria was employed by Blakestad Drug, Dale’s Surplus Shoes, Snap On Tools, Dodgen Industries, and Art and Frame. On October 29, 1982, she was united in marriage to Delbert Williams and the couple made their home in Humboldt until moving to Rutland.
Gloria enjoyed fishing, Cooking for family and friends, garage sales, playing cards and casinos, and her large vegetable garden. Above all, she loved the time spent with her family.
