Harold B. Dale, 89, of Dakota City, passed away December 29, 2017 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Burial with full military rites by Adams American Legion Post 119 and Sathers-Odgaard VFW Post 5240 will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Harold Bernhard Dale (Curly) passed away peacefully in the evening hours of December 29, 2017. Born to Haldor and Dorthea Bertina (Tina) Dale on August 17, 1928, Harold was the youngest of four children: Ivan, Kenneth and Astrid. Harold was born and raised on a farm near Bode Iowa and graduated in 1947 from Bode High School. He served our nation in the United States Army from 1950 - 1952 during the Korean Conflict. Harold married Dorothy Bratland on September 1, 1950 and they began their life together. To this union a daughter Deborah Jo was born in 1954. Harold and his family enjoyed life in Dakota City, Iowa for the remainder of his years. He worked for REC (Rural Electric Cooperative) first as a lineman and retiring as a line superintendent after 45 years. Throughout his years Harold enjoyed fishing, deer and bird hunting, many trips to Canada and Wisconsin, woodworking, watching baseball “Go Cubs” and bicycle riding. But his greatest service was to God and his faith through Jesus Christ.
Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy Dale, daughter Deborah (Richard) Museus of Dresser, WI, grandchildren Tawnya (Larry) Koenig of Luck, WI and Tori Museus (Kyle Hicks) of St Croix Falls, WI and great grandchildren Addie and Aydin Koenig of Luck, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents Haldor and Tina Dale and siblings Ivan Dale, Kenneth Dale and Astrid Broberg.
