Harold F. Nilles, 92, of Gilmore City, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at the Humboldt Care Center North.
Harold was born on December 11, 1929, in Hamilton County, the son of Charles and Lucy (Marga) Nilles. At an early age Harold moved with his family to a farm near Gilmore City. He was united in marriage to Roberta “Bobbie” Wittman on February 23, 1952, in Humboldt and they resided in Fort Dodge for a short time, then deciding to move to Thor. In 1963 Harold and Bobbie moved to a farm near Gilmore City where Harold farmed until retiring in 2018. Harold enjoyed motorcycles, polka dancing, raising buffalo, cows and pigs, as well as wintering in Texas.
Harold is survived by his children Kathy (Lyle) Peltz of Waseca, Minnesota and Gary (Vicki) Nilles of Gilmore City, grandchildren Trent Nilles, Clint (Jen Hamilton) Peltz and Stephanie (Drew) Bartelt, great-grandchildren Karley, Willow, and Chayce, siblings John (Verna) Nilles of Humboldt, Mary (Chet) Buckner of Springfield, Missouri, Barbara Sawyer of Humboldt, Marcie Ortner of Waterloo, Clarine (Frank) Abeita of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Lucille (Dick) Ortner-Larsen of Marshfield, Wisconsin and Eva (Jack) Cafferty of Mauston, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta, brothers Donald, Mel, Joe and Jim and his sister Dorothy.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.
