Harold W. Vosberg, 85, of Humboldt, passed away May 7, 2014 at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Harold Walter Vosberg, the son of Walter and Carrie (Diemel) Vosberg, was born March 11, 1929 on the family’s farm near Knierim, Iowa.  He attended country school and graduated from Manson High School in 1947.

On June 26, 1949, he was united in marriage to Marjorie A. Licht at Deer Creek Church and the couple began farming near Fort Dodge and Knierim.  They then farmed together near Ottosen and Rutland for many years.  They made their home in Humboldt in 1981 and continued their farming operations until 1993.  Marjorie passed away in June of 2010 and Harold continued to maintain his home in Humboldt.

Mr. Vosberg was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served as a past treasurer and helped with the fellowship hall construction.  For many years, Harold worked part-time for the ASCS office and as a census taker.  He enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, and camping.  He also enjoyed working with stained glass, woodworking, and making latch hook rugs.  He and Marjorie enjoyed their Rutland card club and he loved to take her to Sunday night dances.  In his later years, Harold enjoyed the quarter game with his Hy-Vee coffee friends and in his younger years, learned to fly and loved to barnstorm until his dad found out.

Harold is survived by his children, Linda (James) Hutchinson of Webster City, Dennis (Susan) Vosberg of Peoria, IL, and Daryl (Heidy) Vosberg of Lake Elmo, MN; grandchildren, Jodi (Brian) Harms, Brian (Stacie) Vosberg, Nicholas (Patricia) Vosberg, Anthony (Alexis) Vosooney, Jennifer (C.J.) Letzelter, Michael (Amanda) Vosberg, and Stephen Vosberg; great grandchildren, Brandon, Ethan, and Carter Harms, Riley and Foster Vosooney, Allison Vosberg, Olivia Letzelter, and Piper Vosberg; brother, Duane (Karen) Vosberg of Omaha; and sister-in-law, Joyce Vosberg-Becker of Manson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; and brother, Earl Vosberg.
