Hilda B. Heider, 96 of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 26, 2019 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 8, 1923 in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Amelia (Miller) Riesberg. She was raised and educated in Carroll County. She was united in marriage to Merle Heider in November of 1944 At Roselle, Iowa. The couple made their home in Halbur, Iowa for a few years, then moved to Humboldt County, living in Bradgate, Gilmore City, then moving to Humboldt in 1969. Hilda is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Humboldt Hospital Auxiliary, Women of the Spirit at St. Mary’s and the Birthday Club.
She is survived by her children, Marlene Heider of Olathe, Kansas, LaVonne Hill of Jacksonville, Florida, Dale (Peg) Heider of Humboldt, Linda (Mike) Bauer of Olathe, Kansas, Lois (Jeff) Albertson of West Des Moines, Leon (Cathy) Heider of Humboldt, Barbara ((Mike) Mueller of Olathe, Kansas, Joan (Mike) Kane of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Sue Drilling of Olathe, Kansas and Craig Heider of Humboldt, 32 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merle, her son-in-law, Ron Hill and her granddaughter, Michelle Heider.
Visitation will be Friday, March 1st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2nd both at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to the charities of the family’s choice.
