Ione Lois Grebner, 75, of Humboldt passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.
Ione was born on February 17, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harold and Inez Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Minneapolis. On June 2, 1963 she was united in marriage to Larry Grebner in Minneapolis and lived there while Larry served in the U.S Army. When Larry was discharged, they moved to Humboldt, Iowa. Ione worked many years in retail at local hardware stores and also worked at Headstart in Dakota City.
Ione loved life and was a very kind person to all she met. You never heard her complain after many years as a severe diabetic. Her favorite saying was “It is what it is”. She showed love to all and was always ready to help everyone.
She is survived by her husband Larry Grebner of Humboldt, sons Doug (Karen) Grebner of Early and Mark Grebner of Edina, Minnesota, granddaughter Sarah (Shawn) Schmitt of Early and sister Ellen (Fred) Zumberge of Burnsville, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral at the church. Burial will be held at Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt.
