James A. Husske, 88, of Bentonville, Arkansas, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.
He was born November 30, 1932, on the farm in Deer Creek Township, the son of Anthony E. and Esther M. (Deppe) Husske. He spent his early years in Deer Creek Township where he graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in Fort Dodge. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea. After service he moved to Fort Dodge where he met and married his wife, Leta L. (Swan) and they were transferred to Kirksville, Missouri during his employment with S.S. Kresge’s. In 1964 they moved to Humboldt where he owned and operated G & H Motor Parts until retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, and the American Legion. He was on the Planning and Zoning Commission in Humboldt for twenty years and served as the president of IAWA.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Leta and his parents. He is survived by his children Cinthia (Rodney) Bachtel of Livingston, Texas, Teresa Shofner of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kimberly (Al) Hemerson of Gilmore City, and Joseph (Angie) Husske of Bentonville, Arkansas, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his brother LeRoy Husske of Fort Dodge.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral and Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial with military rites by the Sathers-Odgaard American Legion will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the hospice organization of your choice.
