James A. Knutson, 62, of Humboldt died July 24, 2010 in Humboldt. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Gene Broughton officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mr. Knutson is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, James Jr. and fiancé, Amy of Spencer, and Jeffrey of Humboldt; grandchildren, Madison and Logan Knutson and John and Kayla Christopherson. He is also survived by his mother Eleanor Halliday of Humboldt; brother, Roger (Donna) Halliday of Webster City; and sisters, Mary (John) Hobscheidt of Corwith, and Karen (Marvin) Andersen of Humboldt. Also surviving are his sister-in-laws, Jean Northrup of Humboldt and Jolene Rosauer of Grundy Center; brother-in-law, John Ulrich of Palm Springs, CA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Knutson and step father, John Halliday.
James Arthur Knutson, the son of Arthur and Eleanor (Bloomquist) Knutson, was born January 21, 1948 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1966. He was united in marriage to Janice Ulrich on April 26, 1969 and the couple made their home in Humboldt.
James worked for several businesses in the area as a truck driver. At the time of his death he was semi-retired and employed part-time at Yacht Club Trailers as a truck driver.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the discretion of the family.
