Jane M. Hansel, 76, of Humboldt, passed away May 1, 2012. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation is from 10 – 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in Northlawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Jane Marian Egeland, the daughter of Phiilip and Marian “Mary” (Knutson) Egeland, was born April 5, 1936 on a farm near Badger. She was raised at Badger and received her education at Fort Dodge graduating from Fort Dodge High School in 1954. In October of 1954, she was united in marriage to Roger Hansel and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. To this union, three children were bvorn. In 1962, the family moved to a farm west of Hardy. The marriage was later dissolved and Jane made her home at Humboldt. For Several years, Jane cared for her mother and for a time was employed by Art and Frame. She then began a career that she very much enjoyed for North Centeral Home Care.
Jane was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Dennis) Ernst of Humboldt; sons, Ron Hansel of Lucas, and Phil Hansel of Johnston; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and her sister, Joan (Darryl) Stensland of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Mary (Knutson) Egeland.
