Janet R. Cirks, 74, of Dakota City, passed away on Monday morning, November 11, 2024 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Janet was born January 2, 1950 in Paullina, Iowa the daughter of Freddie and Alice (Ginger) Stockfleth. She was raised and educated in Paullina and at age ten moved with her family to Humboldt. She graduated from Humboldt High School. On September 7, 1977, she was united in marriage to Alvin Cirks. The couple made their home in Humboldt and Janet worked in purchasing for Dodgen Industries for forty-seven years, retiring in 2017. In retirement, Janet worked at Pasquales Pizza in their frozen pizza division for a couple of years. Janet enjoyed her family and friends and traveling.
Janet is survived by special friend Max Page, her step-children; Anthony (Kitty) Cirks, Belinda (Mark) Firestone, Christina (Matt) Pallof, Dale Cirks and Eric Cirks, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brother, Wayne Stockfleth, sister-in-law Judy Stockfleth and her sister Donna Beers, as well as, many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvin, sister Karen Beseke, her brothers Gordon Stockfleth and Weldon Stockfleth and two grandchildren, Angela Cirks and Jeremy Sorensen.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15th at Mason-Lindhart and one hour prior to the service, Saturday. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt.
