Jeannette E. Mikolasko, 87, of Humboldt, passed away March 12, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center North.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with the Rev. J.K. Raether officiating.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mikolasko is survived by her husband, Frederick of Humboldt; her son, Roger Crouch of Chicago, IL; her daughter, Linda Sue Phillips of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Owen “Pete” Curry of LuVerne, Howard Curry of Bode, George Curry of Humboldt, Jerry Lee Curry of Blythewood, SC, and Richard Curry of Columbia, MO; and sisters, Marilyn Johnson of LeMars, and Phyllis Brabec of Fremont, NE.  She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Gladys Arlene.

Jeannette E. Curry, the daughter of George and Esther (Bradbury) Curry, was born August 27, 1924 at Bradgate, Iowa.  She attended country schools near Rolfe and graduated from Bradgate High School.  She then attended collage at Cedar Falls and played in the Waterloo – Cedar Falls Symphony.  On March 31, 1977, Jeannette was united in marriage to Frederick Mikolasko and the couple made their homes in Wisconsin then Florida where she attended the Florida Christian Retreat.  In 1981, they moved to Des Moines where she attended Open Bible College.  The couple then made their home in Bradgate, moving to Humboldt in 1987.

Jeannette was employed by the Department of Human Services, Job Service of Iowa, and Iowa Workplace Development.  She enjoyed listening to music and working in her garden.  She especially enjoyed being active in prayer ministry and the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
