Jerry A. Bacon, 71, of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
He was born June 28, 1949 in Fort Dodge, the son of George and Elsie (Miller) Bacon. He grew up in the Fort Dodge area and then was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Germany. He married Sharon Rosendahl on June 14, 1969. Following his discharge, they returned to Fort Dodge. He worked for Mead Container and later Hormel before becoming an insurance agent with AAL Insurance and later his own agency Associated Insurance. Jerry was an organizer, especially in his garage, enjoyed his friends, family and golf.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children,
Daniel (Ronda) Bacon of Storm Lake and Michelle (Mike) Odor, his grandchildren Ellie Bacon and Neely Bacon, his sisters Delores Newkirk and Karen Hill, his brother Art (Anna) Bacon, his sister’s-in-law Georgia and Sheri Bacon, brother-in-law and his wife Gary and Nancy Rosendahl along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, brothers Darrell, Ed and Lloyd Bacon, sisters Betty Meinking and Dolly Hayes.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21st at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Numbers are now unlimited yet face masks and social distancing is required. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge..
