Jerry A. Rubel, 80 of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.
Jerry was born on April 24, 1940 in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Marion and Leona (Lykke) Rubel. He graduated from Audubon High School in 1958 and worked at American Cyanamid in Exira, Iowa. He then married Judy Rae Olson on July 10, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. In 1965 they moved from Audubon to Stanton, Iowa where he farmed until 1981. He then moved to Humboldt, Iowa and became a commodity broker where he started his business, Futures and Options and then later transferred to RG Dickinson Company of Fort Dodge, Iowa working several years before retiring there.
He never ventured far from the farming industry, for his past time in his retirement years was investing in the stock and commodity market. Even though his inability to walk and bound to a wheelchair, his loving wife Judy, devoted herself to taking care of him. The love they showed for one another was evident by all. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy and he looked forward to their visits. Jerry was an avid Cyclone fan and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Judy, his children Kevin (Elaine) Rubel, Robyn (Bart) Peterson and Troy Rubel and fiancé, Michelle, grandchildren Kelsey (Ryan) Dornath, Kaitlyn (Jacob) Winge, Tanya (TJ) Gould, Kendra (Jake) McCullough, Kolton Rubel, Keisha Rubel, Kaycee Rubel, Karson Rubel, Hailey Rochleau and Reese Rochleau, great-grandchildren Adalyn Winge, Everleigh Winge, Taylen Gould and Kinsley McCullough, brother Danny (Marilyn) Rubel and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Adam Lantz.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, November 12th at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
