Jim “J.D.” Faltinson, 74, of Bode, passed away January 27, 2012. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, Bode.
Jim is survived by his sons, Greg Faltinson of Bode and Brad Faltinson of Encinitas, CA; his brother, Don (Lori) Faltinson of Dakota City; and his very special friend, Mary VanDeWalle of Humboldt. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara.
Jimmie Dean Faltinson, the son of Vernon and Carla (Steffensen) Faltinson, was born March 1, 1937 on a farm near Bode. He attended country school near Bode and graduated from Bode High School. On December 11, 1964 he married Barbara June Kamp and the couple farmed in Delana Township. To this union two sons, Greg and Brad, were born. Barbara passed away January 31, 1975 and Jim remained on the farm raising his sons. In the mid-1980’s he met Mary VanDeWalle and the two enjoyed each other’s company for over 26 years. In recent years, Jim continued his farming operations with the help of his son, Greg and Keith Edge.
Jim was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He enjoyed coffee, visiting with friends, and working on his farm.
