Jose F. Jimenez Jr.

Jose F. Jimenez, Jr., 21 of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday morning, September 12, 2021 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born November 25, 1999, in Fort Dodge, the son of Jose Fernando Jimenez and Laura Marquez-Flores. He was raised and educated in Humboldt, was a stand out on the Humboldt wrestling team and played tuba in the high school band. He especially enjoyed music, singing, and playing guitar and the accordion. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, as well as, eating and spending time with his friends and animals. In January of this year, he moved to Des Moines and worked for Michaels Foods in Norwalk.

Jose is survived by his father, Fernando Jimenez of Humboldt; his mother, Laura Marquez-Flores of Ames; brothers and sisters, Yaquelin, Carlos A., Julieta and Emiliano A. Jimenez, all of Ames; his significant other, Cierra Douglas of Humboldt, his grandparents, Maria E. Flores, Jose Marquez and Bertha Flores, many aunts and uncles and several cousins of the Jimenez / Marquez families. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lupita Jimenez and his grandfather, Alfonso Jimenez.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17th at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Ames. Mass will be live streamed at
