Judy Michael, 76, of Humboldt, passed away July 13, 2018 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Alberta Ervin officiating. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Judy Lemons, the daughter of Hugh and Ruth (Eve) Lemons, was born March 30, 1942 at Pueblo, Colorado. As child, she moved with her family to Iowa where they farmed and Judy graduated from Woodbine High School. She was united in marriage to Jerry Michael on January 27, 1961 at Fremont, Nebraska. The couple made their home at Logan until moving to Humboldt where they raised their four children. Judy worked for many years as a dispatcher at the Law Enforcement Center in Humboldt and enjoyed her volunteer work at the snack bar at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Jerry passed away on July 9, 1995 and Judy continued to maintain her home in Humboldt.
Judy was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. A talented singer, Judy loved to share her gift of music at weddings and funerals and enjoyed her participation in Community Chorus. Her musical talent was also expressed in her love of playing the piano. She enjoyed crafts and loved her time camping with Jerry. Above all, Judy loved her family and the time she spent with them.
Judy is survived by her children, Tami Edge of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Brenda and Scott Harklau of Naples, FL, Tracy (Dennis) Gorter of Sheldon, and Roy (Shana) Michael of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her fiancé, Ed Heckman of Humboldt; and brother, Bill (Muriel) Lemons of Harlan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry; her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Roy and JoAnn Lemons.
