Kelli Lynne Andersen, 57, passed away in the early morning of Monday June 19, 2023, in Independence, Missouri.
Kelli was born in Des Moines, Iowa, July 25, 1965. She is survived by her father Joseph (Joe) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, nephew Tyler [wife Megan and son Bennett] of Riverside, Missouri, nephew Nathaniel (Nate) of Kansas City, Missouri, and her two dogs Lily and Lacey. Kelli was preceded in death by her mother Patricia (Pat) and brother Kirk.
In 1985 Kelli graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri. Upon graduation she moved around frequently for a few years before settling in Grain Valley, Missouri, for the remainder of her life. Among many of her interests and hobbies, Kelli was especially a friend to all animal life, often being closer to them than people she joked. Her gentle soul loved fostering animals in need, saving many injured cats and dogs through getting them to their forever homes. As a child, she loved riding horses and had horses of her own, which she always spoke of with great pride.
Family and faith were paramount to her, as she often would say the Lord comes before even herself; then her mom, dad, the rest of the family, and finally everyone else if she had time. She definitely embodied the stubbornness frequently attributed to Andersens’ as anyone who knew her would attest - however with that there was zero doubt she would answer the phone if you called, and be there in a heartbeat if you were in need of support. She had many challenging health conditions which made it difficult to maintain her spirit; however, she overcame this adversity through God’s grace. As she became aware of her terminal condition she was able to make peace with her transition, which is a blessing we all will forever be grateful for.
She asked upon her departure for Psalm 23 from the Bible to act as her final words, so that is how we will leave you.
