Kenneth W. Canning, 59, of Bode passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Hospice of Northern Iowa in Mason City.
Kenneth was born on August 7th, 1959 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Thomas and Marie Canning. After graduating from Richards High School in 1977, he went on to get his Associates Degree from Moraine Valley in Palos Hills, Illinois. Kenneth also expanded his many talents by going to Donka, Inc. in Carol Stream Illinois and helped tutor students there. He met Tina Danielson and they married in 1986. Kenneth had worked as a fork lift operator in a dry storage warehouse for most of his working career, he had also worked as inventory for a number of different stores. Kenneth and Tina moved to Iowa in 1994 and made their home in Bode, shortly after the move they welcomed their daughter, Anna Marie Canning into this world. Kenneth loved to work for the community, he was a library board member, a community club board member, and a church board member. He also enjoyed setting up town activities such as Bode Uffda Daze and the Bode haunted house. He was a very punctual person and was very particular about planning vacations and family trips. Kenneth also loved to build shelves and often played games that stimulated his brain on the computer and old school Nintendo consoles.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Canning of Bode; daughter Anna Canning of Fort Dodge; brother Thomas (Carol) Canning of Homer Glen, Illinois; sister Anita (Scott) Charbonneau of Orland Hills, Illinois; two nephews and one niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marie Canning.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
