DATELINE HUMBOLDT
Mr. Kenneth Robinson, 87, of Humboldt passed away July 2, 2016 at the Humboldt Care Center North. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is assisting the family.
Kenneth Leroy Robinson was born June 25, 1929 at Mason City to Everett and Ada (Puls) Robinson. He spent his growing up years there graduating with the “Class of ‘47”. He worked at Hermanson Dairy delivering milk door to door for a few years. On July 3, 1949 he married Neva Bigelow, and the couple moved to Cedar Falls shortly thereafter. Ken obtained a degree in upper elementary education from Iowa State Teacher’s College (now UNI). The couple moved to Humboldt where Ken taught 6th grade and special education.
Ken was a unique and fun personality—full of talents and artistic creativity. He enjoyed meeting people and gabbing with them. Ken took pride in being a long time member of the Humboldt Lions Club. He was a member of the rock hound club in Fort Dodge. Ken built three large dinosaur statues as a hobby. He also had a love for nature.
Ken is survived by his wife of 67 years, Neva; his son Mike (Bev) of Humboldt; son Jeff of Humboldt; granddaughter Amy Robinson of Fort Dodge; grandson Jay (Jeannine) Robinson of Hanford, CA; granddaughter Jamie Robinson (Ed Derrig) of Fort Dodge; and great-grandchildren Christina Robinson (Andrew Haack) of Ankeny, Harley Reis of Mankato, MN, Mackenzie and Abigail Derrig of Fort Dodge; and great-great grandson Jaxen Haack. Preceding Ken in death were his sons David and Alan Robinson.
Ken’s family requests that memorials be sent to the Humboldt Lions Club.
