Kevin D. May

Kevin D. May, 52 of Humboldt, passed away at the Humboldt Care Center North on Monday morning, October 8, 2018.

He was born May 28, 1966 in Fort Dodge, the son of Dennis D. and Gloria K. (Boughton) May. In his early years he made his home on the family farm near Humboldt. During his high school years and with the encouragement from Principal David Fleming, Kevin became an assistant to the custodians and was in charge of maintaining the hallways with special modifications having been made to his wheelchair. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1985. Following graduation, he moved to Sheldon where he made his home for over twenty years. Kevin enjoyed working on the can line and delivering cardboard with his wagon. He later returned to the Humboldt area to be close to family. He particularly enjoyed his nieces and nephews and following their activities. He was very sports minded and was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Gloria May, his sisters, Kris May and Kelli Nicholson and his brother, Kurt (Cheryl) May all of Humboldt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis, his grandparents and two uncles.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., the Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 11th at 10:00 a.m. all at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. In honor of Kevin, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Iowa Hawkeyes apparel. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
