Larry Dean Erickson, 58, of rural Humboldt left the world doing what he loved on August 9, 2015. Funeral Services will be Friday August 14 at 4:00 pm at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with Pastor Christy Ehrle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
Larry D. Erickson, the son of Ernest and Bernice (Mogler) Erickson, was born March 15, 1957 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised on a farm in Humboldt County and attended Humboldt Community Schools. His love for musical performance began with his involvement in band and choir at the Humboldt High School. He graduated in 1975 and attended Iowa Central Community College where he received his Associates Degree in accounting. He then returned to farming with his family. From his first marriage, Larry was blessed with three children. His marriage to Kathy blessed him with his blended family.
Larry was born a farmer, became a husband and a father, an over the road truck driver, and a pilot. Music and his participation in Community Chorus was his passion.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Brandon Erickson of Hardy, Jessica Erickson and her fiancé, Brian Kenyon, of Fort Dodge, Brett Erickson of Humboldt, Ben and Sandy Houle of Brainerd, MN, and Sarah and Josh Oehrlein of Brainerd, MN; grandchildren, Amaya Houle, Elizabeth Houle, Jordan Oehrlein, and Tori Oehrlein; his brother, Allen and Michelle Erickson of Hardy; and sisters, Sheri Erickson of Ankeny, and Kristi Morgan of Ankeny. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Anna Marie.
