Larry L Haverly

August 24, 1959 — September 15, 2019

Larry L. Haverly, 60, of Renwick, passed away at his home Sunday morning, September 15, 2019. He was born August 24, 1959 in Britt, Iowa to Hugh and Shirley (Eden) Haverly and raised on a farm north of Renwick. He graduated from Boone Valley High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to LoAnn (Jones) on June 15, 2013.

Larry loved camping, and spending time with family and friends. He had a lifetime passion for working with his hands and his engineering mind in many trades including farming, auto body, carpentry, welding, trucking and woodworking. He ran several successful businesses, including his most recent, Haverly Trucking. He took great pride in his strong work ethic and wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.

Larry was a gifted storyteller. He loved to recount tales from his childhood and reminisce about good times had with friends. He would often be overcome with his own laughter before the story was even over! He could tell a joke or name “a song about that” regarding practically any subject. When you met him or left him it was always with a strong handshake or if you were lucky, a big bear hug.

He is survived by his wife LoAnn, their children: Amber (John) Otto of Maryville, Missouri, Clinton Haverly of Meservey, Iowa, Angela (Adam) Goodell of Goldfield, Rebecca (Mitch Frank) Nelson of Clare, eight grandchildren: Kennedy, Carter, Reagan, MaKenzie, Morgan, Lealand, Bruce and Trinity, his brother Jerry (Helen) Haverly of Humboldt, his sisters Diana (Nate Blankenhagen) Haverly also of Humboldt, Lori (Bill Brown) Poland of Carroll, and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family memorial service will take place at Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home.
