Larry N. Sorensen, 63 of Humboldt, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Larry was born March 30, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Robert and Catherine (Lentsch) He was raised in Pioneer and graduated from Gilmore City-Bradgate in 1974. On December 28, 1984 he was united in marriage to Karen Marchant in Gilmore City. He raised hogs and farmed until moving to Humboldt in 1990, where her continued to farm until his retirement in 2005. He was blessed to be able to enjoy his retirement by spending time with his family, golfing, gardening, traveling, attending his grandson’s sporting events and anything else he could find to do outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Sara Sorensen of Humboldt, Neal (Kate) Sorensen of Mesa, Arizona, Jamie (Mathew) Steil of Humboldt, his grandson, Riley Sorensen, and his brothers and sisters, Betty (Rick) Irvine of Mt. Dora, FL, Kenneth (Kathy) Sorensen of Pocahontas, Robin (Doug) Fitzgerald of Black Forest, CO, Curt Sorensen of Bloomfield, Sandy (Bill) Kelly of Vincent, Iowa and Karla Sorensen of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Becky Pfeifer, his niece, Lisa Sorensen and nephew Troy Fitzgerald.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
