LaVonne Pogge, 82, of Humboldt, formerly of Renwick, passed away February 18, 2015 at Journeys, Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 21st at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Renwick. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Renwick. Visitation is from 5-7 pm Friday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mrs. Pogge is survived by her sons, Doug (Elsa) Pogge of Denver Colorado and David (Roxanne) Pogge of Humboldt; four grandchildren, Sandra (Tim) Hoban, Priscilla Fischer, Matt Pogge, and Will Pogge; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Pogge; sisters, Lorraine Friesth and Alice Erickson; and brother, Dale Halverson.
LaVonne Illene Halverson, the daughter of Hale and Ida (Hellickson) Halvorson, was born February 20, 1932 on a farm southwest of Hardy. She was baptized on May 15, 1932 and confirmed October 20, 1946 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Hardy. She received her education in Grove Township Country School and graduated from Renwick High School. On June 10, 1050, she was united in marriage to Henry Pogge at the First Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The couple made their home on the family farm where they managed their farming and livestock operations for many years until their retirement. Mr. Pogge passed away in March of 2010.
LaVonne was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Renwick and served on many church committees. She has also served as a volunteer for Hospice of Wright County.
