Lee Dean Miller, the son of Albert Milton and Eva (Robertson) Miller, was born November 20, 1936 on a farm seven miles northwest of Laurens, Iowa. As a child, the family moved to Webb, Iowa where Lee’s father owned and operated a hardware store. He attended school at Webb and was employed in the filling station. Following his graduation from Webb High School, Lee entered the National Guard before joining the Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Iowa and made his home at Battle Creek. He was employed by GoMaCo in Ida Grove before going to work for a road construction company. On December 26, 1981, Lee was united in marriage to Janice Johnson and the couple made their home in Bode. Lee then became a truck driver for many years. In the years before his retirement, Lee worked for the Chantland Company in Humboldt.
Lee was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He loved the City of Bode, serving as its Mayor, on the Town Council, and performed many hours of volunteer work for the city. He enjoyed golfing, loved to fly, and was a member of the Humboldt Flying Club. Above all, Lee enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his wife, Janice of Bode; children, Diana Aadland of Loveland, CO, Kim Sebert of Clarion, Jolene of Bode, Carol Johnson of Bode, and Larry Johnson of Cheyenne, WY; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Heidi, Tara, Jonathon, Jamie, Jennifer, Michael, and Kevin; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Leo Sebert; and brothers, Dick and Bob Miller.
