Linda Preston

Linda Preston, 66, of Humboldt, passed away December 11, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt followed by funeral services at 7 p.m.
Linda is survived by her sons, Toby (Carla) Short of Webster City and Chris Short of Humboldt; grandchildren, Dylan Short, Jacob Widick, and Janis Short.
Linda was born January 26, 1951. She was raised in an orphanage in Ottumwa until her adoption by Jim and Betty Lenning of Humboldt. She attended school at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School. In 1972, she married Robert Short and the marriage was later dissolved. She made her home in Humboldt where she raised her sons and worked at various Humboldt businesses. For a time, the family made their home in Iowa Falls until returning to Humboldt in 1986.
Linda made her home at Humboldt Homes in her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors and caring for her rose bushes. Above all, Linda loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.
