Lona Rae Wilson, 62, of Humboldt passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2020.
She was born July 10, 1957, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Kenneth and Ona (Tubbs) Hanson. She grew up outside of Rutland and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1975 where she excelled in band, playing the flute, running track and playing basketball. She attended junior college and majored in horticulture. She was united in marriage to Douglas Wilson and the couple had four children. The marriage later dissolved and she met Kurt Thoden with whom she has spent for than twenty years. Lona worked at Dodgen Industries and was currently employed at Hy-Capacity in Humboldt. She loved to garden, enjoyed her flowers and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her life partner, Kurt Thoden, her children, Nick Wilson of Rutland, Cory Wilson of Marshalltown, Kyle (Kristi) Wilson and Ryan Wilson both of Humboldt, step-children, Craig and Candy Thoden, her grandchildren Angelyna, Harlee, Paige, Raegan, Tyson, Marshall, Mason, Makenna, Josie, Emma, Kaitlyn & Bree, her sisters Laurie (Frank) Derr of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Lee Ann (Mark) Daggy of Des Moines and her brother Kirk Hanson of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bernie.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, May 31st from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at 1942 Georgia Avenue, Rutland. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements.
