Loretta Rose Daggy, 64, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha following a long illness.
She was born August 29, 1954 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Junior and Loretta (Conlon) George. She was raised in Dakota City and attended St. Mary’s School, later graduating from Humboldt High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Johnny Jay Daggy on February 23, 1974. The couple made their home Humboldt, where she worked in the business office of the Humboldt Community School District for 28 years. In 2008 the couple moved to Urbandale and Rose worked for Von Maur and later for Ballenger Chiropractic. In 2016 they moved to Council Bluffs. Rose enjoyed living near her daughter and son-in-law, spoiling her grandpuppies, trying out new restaurants with her husband, spending Friday afternoons shopping with her daughter, working on home remodeling projects, and baking delicious treats for her friends and family to enjoy. Her family is heartbroken at her loss, but forever grateful for the many years she was in their lives. They are better people because of her love.
She is survived by her husband, John of Council Bluffs, her daughter, Erica (John) Bracker of Council Bluffs, her brothers and sisters, Pat (Mike) Dalton of Humboldt, David (Jollie) George of Stanwood, Washington, Colleen White of Cedar Falls, Rebecca (Kirk) Rolland of Ames, Linda (Jim) Dodd and Madelyn (John) Riles both of Humboldt, Peggy Williams of Dakota City, Therese (Don) Davis of Aurora, Colorado, Pamela (Dave) Stockdale of Humboldt, Marcella (Rick) Shackelford of Edmond, Oklahoma, Joe (Tami) George of Valparaiso, Indiana, her sister-in-law Vickie (Randy) Roeber of Algona, and her brother-in-law Terry (Linda) Daggy of Humboldt, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Junior and Loretta George, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Marian and Wayne Daggy, and her brothers-in-law Dana Daggy, Jack Hayler, Mike White, and Mike Williams.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt on Tuesday, August 20th. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Humboldt.
