Lorraine Jenson, 96, of Bode, passed away October 19, 2011 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode with the Rev. Steven Bliss officiating. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery at Bode. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Bode.
Mrs. Jenson is survived by her sons, Lloyd (Harriett) Stith of Greenville, OH, Richard (Val) Jenson of Monett, MO, Gregory Jenson of Denver, CO, and Larry (Nancy) Jenson of Bode; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernie and Marjorie Jenson of Humboldt, Orel and Lorna Stith Jenson of Fort Dodge, and Laona Jenson of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.
Lorraine Clapsaddle was born October 12, 1915 to Frank and GloEtta (Beaman) Clapsaddle of Corwith. She was raised in the Corwith area, attended the Corwith Public Schools, and graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1932. She attended Britt Junior College and taught for six years in country schools of LuVerne Township.
In December of 1941, she married Lloyd J. Stith of Corwith. He passed away in November of 1944, somewhere in Holland during World War II. In March of 1949, she married Glenn Jenson of Bode. They raised their family and farmed north of Bode until the mid-1980’s when they moved into town. Glenn passed away on September 21, 1997.
Lorraine drove school bus for the Twin Rivers School District for 18 years. She was a long time member of both the American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Bode.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 8 brothers; 4 sisters; and one great-Grandchild.
