Lucas A. Pflibsen, 18, of Dakota City, passed away Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. David Hobbs officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Lucas is survived by his parents, Garth and Sharon Pflibsen of Dakota City; sister, Jessica Pflibsen of Britt, her fiancé, Matt Ubben Of Humboldt; grandma’s, Shirley Allen and Shari Pflibsen; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as his friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ira Allen and Vernen Pflibsen.
Lucas Alan Pflibsen, the son of Garth and Sharon (Allen) Pflibsen, was born April 16, 1990 at Humboldt. He was raised in Dakota City and attended Humboldt Schools. He graduated early from high school and started college at Iowa Central Community College the very next day. He has been employed at Ampride, Pizza Hut, Jensen Trailers, and this past fall began a position at the Rabiner Ranch as a counselor. Lucas was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt where he was confirmed and baptized. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles, as well as, snowmobiling. He loved being with his friends and also his dogs Jake and Jackie.
