Lucille J. Eastman, 90, of Bode passed away November 30, 2009 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Friday at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode with Pastor Paul Breddin officiating. Internment will be at the St. Olaf Cemetery in Bode. Visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with a Royal Neighbors Memorial Service beginning at 6:00pm.
Lucille Jane Eastman, the daughter of William and Lucina (Phillips) Eastman, was born on February 12, 1919 in Bradgate, Iowa. Born and raised in Bradgate, Lucille attended Bradgate schools and graduated as the Valedictorian of her class in 1937. Following her high school education, she was united in marriage to Loren Eastman on June 03, 1939. Following marriage, Lucille was a stay-at-home mother and raised her two beautiful children.
Mrs. Eastman was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and was an active member in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. She enjoyed cooking and baking along with gardening and playing cards. Lucille’s passion was her family, neighbors, and friends along with spending many years at their cabin in Spirit Lake.
Lucille is survived by her son, Fred (Kathy) Eastman; daughter, Alice Helle; grandchildren, Lorna (Patrick) Garcia, Sean Helle, Erik Eastman and Evan Eastman; and one-great-grandchild, Gabriel Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren, and ten brothers and sisters.
