Luella B. Johnson, 93, of Humboldt, passed away December 3, 2011, at the Long Term Care at Humboldt Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with Pastor H.W. Schiller officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Hardy. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son Alan (Shirley)Johnson, of Hardy and her daughter, Carol Argentos of Clayton, California, grandchildren, Aaron, Jason, and Jacob Johnson and great-grandchildren Brianne and Logan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lewis, brother, Jay Ersland and grandson Brian Johnson.
Luella Ersland, the daughter of Ben and Odessa (Amerson) Ersland was born July 11, 1918 at Thor, Iowa. She was raised on a farm and graduated from high school with the first graduating class of Thor in 1936. On March 20, 1943 she was united in marriage to Lewis and they made their home on a farm near Hardy. After her husbands death she continued to live at the farm until 2008 when she moved into Springvale apartments in Humboldt. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hardy and was a member of ELCW and circle and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was active in the China Painters group and Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
