Mabel Erickson

August 9, 1908 — March 30, 2017

Mabel Erickson, 108, of Humboldt, passed away March 30, 2017 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Humboldt with the Rev. Shonda Deranleau officiating. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mabel Emery, daughter of George and Grace Furnam Emery, was born August 9, 1908 in Johnson, Vermont. She was raised on a farm and attended the local schools. After graduating from business college, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper.
Mabel was married to Leslie Molander, and they moved to Humboldt, Iowa, where they started a photography studio. Leslie passed away in 1975. They were the parents to one son, Gene.
Mabel was married to Adrian Erickson, and they farmed in Rutland Township until building their home in Humboldt. Adrian passed away in 1986. Mabel remained in their home until becoming a resident of Long Term Care.
Mabel is survived by her son, Gene (Cindy) Molander; grandchildren, Jeff (Melinda) Molander, Janelle (Scott) Miller, Kevin Molander.
