Marcia K. Kampen, 79, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born July 5, 1942, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Clifford and Marjorie (Helvick) Hart. She was raised and educated in Humboldt, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1960. Following high school, she worked for a short time as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone. On February 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Kampen. The couple made their home in Ottosen and later Humboldt where they raised their family. In 1985 Marcia started with Casey’s General Store and worked at various area locations before becoming the manager of the Humboldt location, retiring in 2011. Marcia was a member of 4H in her early years, in later years, she especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren, genealogy, painting, flower gardening, her trip to Ireland and mostly Grove Township.
She is survived by her husband Paul, her sons Brett (Jill) of Humboldt, Jeff (Vicki) of Fort Dodge, Joel (Sheri) and Chad (Tammy) both of Humboldt, her grandchildren Maddie, Mitch, Amie, Ashley, Tanner, Kole, Cody, Megan, Zachary, Nate, Jake, Shelbie, Jaxon, Jaden & Gabby, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gwen and Betty and her brother Mike.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1st at Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
