Marjorie R. Peltz, 89, of 1338 3rd Ave NW, passed away January 18, 2012, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
Marjorie Ruth Peterson, the daughter of Arthur George and Josephine Sarah (Lind) Peterson, was born September 16, 1922 at Badger. She received her education in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge High School. She was united in marriage to Raymond Peltz on August 25, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple farmed together for many years in Humboldt County until their retirement in 1975 when they moved to Humboldt. In 1997, they made their home in Fort Dodge. She became a resident of the Villa Care Center in August of 2011.
Marjorie was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing and gardening. In their retirement, She and Ray spent their winters in Texas where Marjorie enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Raymond Peltz of Fort Dodge; daughter, Ramona (Harold) Coon of Lohrville; grandchildren, Terry (Gerald) Gourley of Webster City and Michael Coon of Ames; great grandchildren, Sarah, Breanna, and Garrett Gourley; great-great granddaughter, Marissa Gourley; brother, Lowell Peterson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and sisters, Eleanor Voss of Woolstock and Loretta Sterniski of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters, Arlene Habermehl, Orville Peterson, Herb Peterson, Larry Peterson, Glen Peterson, DeVon Peterson, and Ellen Wheat.
