Marvin Lee Davis, 86 of Fort Dodge went to his heavenly reward June 7, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Pastor Shonda Deranleau will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marvin Lee Davis was born November 7, 1930, the youngest child born to Frank and Sena (Knudson) Davis. Following graduation from Humboldt High School in 1950, Marvin served two years in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict.
He was united in marriage to Sonia Anderson in 1955; the couple later divorced.
He was employed with Standard Engineering/Bush Hog Stan Hoist for 20 and also worked at Quality Plus Products until ill health forced his retirement in 1984.
Marv was an avid bowler. He was a long time member of the Fort Dodge Men’s Bowling Association and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1996. He also enjoyed following Charla’s bowling and her tournaments, making many bowling friends across Iowa. He also enjoyed golf.
Survivors include Charla Green of Fort Dodge, daughter Shelly Fraser of Lehigh, son Brett (Deb) Davis of Humboldt, two grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and his brother.
