Mary Anne Schuchmann, formerly of Humboldt, passed away Thursday morning, April 20th, 2023, at Grand Living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mary Anne was born January 3, 1931, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Feeney, she was a graduate of Strawberry Point High School and received her BS in Nursing from College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota. She worked as a cardiology nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota and was a nursing supervisor in the Intensive Care Area at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City while her husband was in Dental School. She served on the board of directors for Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
Mary Anne was a member and past president of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Board, Humboldt Women’s Federated Club, her local chapter PEO and Saint Mary’s Society. She served as the first president of the Humboldt AAUW (American Association of University Women) and was named their Woman of the Year in 1988. She enjoyed antiquing with her Questers Chapter, painting with her fellow china painters and gathering with her much loved bridge group of many decades. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish, participating in many church and school activities and serving as volunteer school nurse as part of her dedication to health education at St. Mary’s School. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and attending their many events.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hal of Cedar Rapids, son David (Rita) Schuchmann of Toddville, her daughters Anne Lohaus of North Liberty, Mary Beth (Michael) Miloro of Chicago, grandchildren Wyatt, Tanner, Macy, Madelyn & Alexandra.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3rd , 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
