Mary L. Daggy, of Humboldt, Iowa passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at South Care, Humboldt. Visitation will be held at Oak Hill Church on July 25th from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Wolter officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

Mary is survived by her children; Nancy (Jim) Gephart, Kathy (Dennis) Scheidt, Mark (LeeAnn) Daggy, Marilyn (Mark) Doebel and Jone (Les) Guderian; her 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; her sister Margaret (Art) Weiss and brother Hank (Mariam) Pitstick.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years Charles Daggy; her parents Opal (Wiese) and Henry Pitstick; three sisters Dorothy Pitstick, Ruth Littlefield, and Kay Chin; two brothers Richard Pitstick and Norman Pitstick; and three grandchildren Allison Scheidt, Bryan Scheidt and Amy Gephart.
Mary was born on September 26, 1929 in Storm Lake, Iowa where they moved to Humboldt, Iowa when she was in the sixth grade. She graduated from Humboldt, Iowa and married her high school sweetheart Charles Daggy on June 3, 1944. Her husband served in WW2 for the first two years of the marriage and then they went into farming.
Mary was a stay at home mom but kept very busy raising her five kids and helping with the farming. She loved the Lord and spent a lot of time leading youth groups and bible studies. She was an active member at the Methodist Church and later at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Mary was an avid reader and read many books. She also loved to refinish old furniture and give them a new look. She was also an excellent seamstress and made most of her children’s clothing including bridesmaid dresses and a wedding dress.
