Mary “Willa Dean” Lang, 89, of Humboldt passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Mary was born on April 23, 1930 on her grandparent’s farm in Tabor, Iowa to William Newton and Mary Violet (Mathews) Scott. She was united in marriage to Jerrold Lang on November 8, 1953. The couple made their home in Humboldt and operated Lang Flowers and Garden Center in Humboldt before retiring in 2003.
Mary is survived by her husband Jerrold, children Kerin (Jeff) Sorenson of San Diego, California, Brian (Robin) Lang of Waterloo and Beth (Curt) Nielsen of Gilmore City, her grandchildren, Jayson Pergande, Jim (Shana) Pergande, Joe (Sarah) Pergande, Travis (Lindsey) Lang, Troy Lang, Trent (Kelly) Lang, Tony (Kassie) Wyatt, Garth Wyatt, Tony King, Tommy (Jessica) King, Tammy (Thomas Richardson) King, 20 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Darlene (Myron) Lintner, Margaret Simpson, Judy (Jerry Wayne) Olson, and Ron Scott, her In-laws, Bill (Maxine) Lang, Tom (Carol) Lang, Don (Marilyn) Lang, and Ron (Barb) Lang, also, numerous nieces and nephew and her loving pets Squeaks and Tabby. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Will and Mary Violet Scott, grandson Christopher McKenna, brother in law, Todd Simpson, sister in law, Linda Hopkins, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mary will be very missed by her friends and family.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service, both at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6th.
