Matthew Reetz

Matthew D. “Matt” Reetz, 34, of Livermore, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday morning, December 26, 2021.
He was born April 24,1987 in Humboldt, the son of Jerry D. and Michelle Lynn (Reetz) Hackett. He grew up in Dakota City and attended Humboldt Community Schools, before entering Iowa Central Community College Electrical Program. He was united in marriage to Austina K. Scott on August 19, 2007. The couple had two children and made their home in Duncombe and later Livermore. Matt worked for a time at Tobacco Outlet Plus in Fort Dodge, but enjoyed being a full time stay at home dad far more. He liked to draw, woodwork, cook, watch movies, tie-dye and especially help the kids with science experiments he had found.
Matt is survived by his wife Austina, his children Kiana and Dominic Lee Reetz all of Livermore, his parents Jerry (Michelle) Hackett and his brother Zachary Allan Hackett all of Duncombe and many cousins, nieces and nephews as well. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Jerry and Colleen Hackett, Warren and Mary Reetz, Velma and Duane Wood and Billie Sr. and Alice Scott, his aunts Wanda Dodrill and Peggy Lowe.
Matt Reetz’s Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
