Michael A. Gregersen, 75 of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday evening, March 14, 2020 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born August 2, 1944 in Rutland, Iowa the son of James and Maggie (Pedersen) Gregersen. He grew up in the Humboldt area and graduated from Humboldt High School. Mike served in the Iowa National Guard for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Heun on May 23, 1970. The couple made their home in Humboldt and he worked as a lineman for MidAmerican Energy for over 40 years, retiring in 2008. He particularly enjoyed his fishing trips, woodworking, being a jack of all trades and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Michael is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Teresa Jergens
(Chris Benjamin) of West Bend, his son Chad (Jamey) Gregersen of Pocahontas, his grandchildren Tyler, Conner and Kassidy Thompson, Maci Ludwig, Hannah, Sydney and Nathan Gregersen, his brother Marlyn (Rita) Gregersen of Arizona, his sisters Phyllis Wigans, Sharon (Curt) Bruvik of Humboldt and Mavis (James) Anderson of Pleasant Hill and his sister-in-law Gayle Gregersen of Swea City. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Maynard.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20th, at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21st at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. No Funeral Mass at the church is planned at this time.
