Michael P. Mullinix

Michael P. Mullinix, 73, of Humboldt, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mike was born July 26, 1950 in Canton, South Dakota, the son of Howard and Madonna (Hoffey) Mullinix.  He grew up in South Dakota and when in high school moved to California where he graduated.  He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam.  Following his discharge he returned to Canton and married Linda Schwarting.  The couple made their home in Canton, however the marriage later dissolved.  Mike married Pamela Ingebretson in 1983 in Lexington, Nebraska, the couple later moved to Morris, Minnesota.  While in Morris they went separate ways and he met Valerie A. Corgard.  In 2001 they moved to Pocahontas and then Humboldt in 2004.  Mike and Valerie were married on June 9, 2007 in Humboldt.  He worked in the trucking industry and drove for AID Enterprises before joining BlackTop Service in Humboldt in 2021.  Mike enjoyed anything outdoors, hunting, fishing and time with his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife Valerie of Humboldt, his children; December (Cory) Pomerenke of Emmetsburg, Debbie Landwehr of Houton, Texas, Terry (Sarah) Mullinix of Zimmermann, Minnesota, Toni Flores of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Timothy Edgar of Bozeman, Montana, Jennifer (Ben) Reed of Sioux Falls and Keny Hitzemann of Ames, eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marsha and brothers Rob and Ronnie.
