Mona R. Heiter

Mona R. Heiter, 87, formerly of Humboldt and Dakota City, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Mona was born January 22, 1937 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Claude and Fern (Greene) Helms. She grew up and was raised and educated in the Dayton area. On November 8, 1956 Mona was united in marriage to Berlyn Heiter. The couple made their home in Humboldt. Mona enjoyed cooking and baking, family was very important to her, she spent time sewing, knitting and crocheting, loved to watch the birds and had been on a women’s bowling league.

Mona is survived by her daughter Claudia of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, her granddaughter Casey Compston, sister-in-law Joan Heiter and her brother-in-law Roger Heiter both of Humboldt and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Berlyn, daughter Cindy, her brother Clayton and her sisters; Audrey, Jean, Diana and Penny.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.
