God in her wisdom called Nancy Drechsler home on October 21, 2017. Nancy wasn’t always an almost ninety-nine year old woman. She was a musician, a writer, an adventurer, an environmentalist, an avid reader, and a follower of world news and loved to travel with her husband in their camper. She was a beloved wife and until her last moments, a loving mother.
Born in New Jersey of Scottish parents, she was an active Presbyterian, serving as a Deacon, substitute organist, and on mission and various Christian women’s groups. Nancy embraced change through the decades and maintained a youthful outlook on life.
Nancy was married for almost 70 years to her beloved husband John, who pre-deceased her in 2013. They were born, married and lived in New Jersey and then lived for twenty years surrounded by ocean on Eaton’s Neck, Long Island. When they retired in 1983, they moved to the mountains of western North Carolina. In 2016, Nancy moved to Springvale Senior Living in Humboldt, Iowa where her son and daughter-in-law John and Candis Drechsler reside. Her daughter Janet Drechsler lives in Vermont. Her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Barbara Drechsler live in Texas.
She is also survived by grandchildren Tracy Buck (Jeff), Scot Nault (Dee), Danielle McLelland (Jake), Ashley Drechsler, Jeremy Drechsler (Kim) and brother-in-law Frank Drechsler.
Please join us Friday, October 27th at 3 pm at Springvale Senior Living for refreshments and a celebration of life. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is assisting the family.
